This is an exciting opportunity for an LPN to join a team of fun and dedicated professionals. This part-time position offers day time hours, no weekends, no holidays, is benefit eligible and the parking is great! This location has been a bustling hub of healing in Creve Coeur since 2001 and was the first in the St. Louis area to achieve accreditation from the Undersea & Hyperbaric Medical Society (UHMS). We are looking for the right candidate to fill this rewarding position at Mercy's Outpatient Hyperbaric Wound Care Center in Creve Coeur.
Our physicians and nursing staff specialize in treating difficult wounds that have not responded to traditional treatments.
The Wound Care Specialist I provides wound, ostomy and hyperbaric care to patients in their assigned area. The Wound Care Specialist I maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care. This includes but is not limited to: coordination of patient care, administering treatments as prescribed by the physician, patient education, documentation, transcription of physician's orders and other duties as assigned. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Education: The Wound Care Specialist I must have applicable education as associated with below license.
Licensure: The Wound Care Specialist I must be an LPN, with either a current Licensed Practical Nurse Temporary Permit/LPN license in the State of Missouri.
Experience: Two years of clinical experience preferred but not required.
Certifications: BLS thru the American Heart Association required; other certification required according to department policy/needs
Certification in Wound Care preferred but not required.
For the Wound Care Specialist, I that provides independent Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Treatments, a CHT (Certified Hyperbaric Technologist) certificate is necessary. Applicants will be considered for hire if they are willing to obtain training and CHT certification within the first 24 months of employment. A 6-month grace period is provided to the Wound Care Specialist I that needs to re-take the test.
For the Wound Care Specialist, I that provides ostomy care, the Wound Care Specialist I must be an OCA (Ostomy Care Associate) or OMS (Ostomy Management Specialist) and/or precepted by a Certified Ostomy Nurse or Ostomy Management Specialist.
