Great place to work and great people as well

Administative Assistant - Oklahoma City, OK - January 13, 2022
Working for three managers and 80 engineers was a lot of fun. It was hectic at times but a lot of fun too. As I took assignments from the managers and worked on them it was very fulfilling to them. Worked on time sheets for all of these engineers and managers as well. This took a lot of time as there were three time systems to input these into. Worked on making sure the OT, TO and VA were are correct. Assisted in making sure the employees files were closed once they left the company. This was a busy job as there were orders to make and pick-up from the factory floor. People to help with their time and other things.

Racist manager. Lead person in my department was always cursing because of personal problems at home. I don’t understand how he made it for Stock Manager. Great workers.

Labratory Technician - Breinigsville, PA - April 30, 2021
Great place to wor, people were good. Company spun off it's production facilities (Agere Systems). At the time of the spin off, the DOT COM bust occured. Agere could not stay afloat and was sold to a cross country business group. To save money the new owners took production and moved it to Mexico and Aisia. This meant that there was no need for the Breinigsville facility so it was closed.

My Career at Lucent Technologies

4.0
Network Operations Manager - New York, NY - March 16, 2021
I began work in the Telecommunications industry in 1968 at the age of 18. At that time the company was called Western Electric, the manufacturing and supply arm of the Bell System. I began work as Communications Equipment Installer and over the years acheived promotions from a one index installer to a Sr Communications Services Tech and team lead on installation projects I was assigned to. In 1984 AT&T divested itself from the Bell system operating Companies but retained Western Electric. After a few years we were renamed Lucent Technologies and in 1998 I was promoted to Network Operations Manager. In this position I managed a team of 15-25 Installers during the various Installation projects assigned to me. I retired from Lucent Technologies in 2001 after the company initiated a downsizing program which cut my career there short.
