Job Description

Responsibilities

The Fortis™ by Sentinel Managed Security Analyst will be responsible for supporting, administering, troubleshooting, repairing, and escalating customer issues across a wide line of technologies all with a security focus. This role can be remote but must provide occassional support onsite at our Tempe, AZ location. 

  • The analyst will need excellent written and verbal communication skills to tactfully assist customers to ensure that requested moves, adds, and changes are performed with security as the prevailing measure to protect the client computer systems, networks, and data.
  • Managed Security analysts are expected to stay up to date on the latest security intelligence, including hackers' methodologies, to properly implement changes.
  • The Analyst will manage incidents and requests assigned to the team/personal queue within the established Service Level Agreement (SLA).
  • Vendor and service provider case management is expected.
  • The analyst may also be expected to perform health checks for various security products as needed.
  • The analyst may be required to assist with Incident Response engagements on an as needed basis.
Qualifications
  • Experience working with and supporting network security technologies:
    • Firewall Technologies (Cisco FTD/FMC, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Meraki)
    • Cisco ISE or other NAC technologies
    • Cisco IDP/IDS
    • Router/Switch Access Control Lists (ACLs)
    • Cisco StealthWatch
    • Darktrace
  • Experience working with and supporting the following security technologies:
    • Cisco Secure Web Gateway (Umbrella)
    • Cisco DUO MFA
  • Understanding of network protocols and traffic flow in an enterprise environment.
  • Ability to performing firewall rule modifications, security whitelisting of false-positives, and evaluating traffic for exceptions across multiple security platforms. This includes the ability to analyze associated artifacts to differentiate malicious traffic from false positives prior to making changes.
  • Knowledge of Domain Name System (DNS) technologies and how they are secured.
  • Experience with Virtualization Technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) is expected.
  • Experience working with and supporting Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) technologies is a plus:
    • CrowdStrike
    • Cylance Protect W/Optics
    • Cisco Secure Endpoint (AMP4E)
  • The ability to communicate clearly with verbal and written skills
  • Staying current on IT security trends, vulnerabilities, and news
  • Researching security enhancements and best practices
  • Recommending security enhancements and purchases
  • Basic knowledge of Linux is a plus
  • The candidate must have a car, as this position requires travel between location and the transportation of equipment
  • A valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance will be required
  • Legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
  • Must demonstrate a “can-do” attitude
