We're looking for someone to join our team as a Manager, Pharmacy who:
Manages the operation of the pharmacy department, including responsibility for human resources, cost and financial accountabilities of the department. Supports the director in managing the pharmacy operations. Implements and enforces policies and procedures. Oversees inventory management, quality assurance and regulatory compliance. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned personnel using both professional and supervisory discretion and independent judgment.
Essential Functions:
* Manages the operation of the department. Maintains compliance with State and other accreditation agencies that regulate the pharmacy under the leadership of the pharmacist-in-charge. Coordinates all in-house manufacturing of pharmaceuticals, with proper control procedures. Maintains records of the transactions of the Pharmacy as required by federal, state, and local laws, and as necessary to maintain adequate control and accountability of all drugs.
* Assures that all pharmaceutical requirements are met when any preparing, sterilizing, and labeling of parenteral medications and solutions is performed within the hospital, but not under pharmacy supervision.
* Maintains records of the transactions of the Pharmacy as required by federal, state, and local laws, and as necessary to maintain adequate control and accountability of all drugs. Maintains and keeps available the staff-approved stock of antidotes and other emergency drugs, both in the Pharmacy and patient care areas.
* Inspects all nursing care units where medications are dispensed, administered, or stored. Develops written policies and procedures that pertain to the hospital drug distribution system, in concert with the medical staff and nursing leadership, as appropriate, with representatives of other disciplines.
* Works as a Staff Pharmacist, daily preparing and dispensing medicines and preparations, cart fill check and or fill.
* Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
You'll be successful with the following qualifications:
Education:
* Graduate of school of pharmacy: Required
* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required
* Doctorate of Pharmacy (PharmD): Preferred
Work Experience:
* Five years pharmacy experience: Preferred
* One years leadership experience: Preferred
Required Licenses/Certifications:
* Pharmacy license in the state of practice: Required
