The Quality Assistance Competency Center is a new department formed as a centralization of QA and Testing resources from multiple Service Delivery (development) teams. As a QA Manager of Information Technology at JM Family Enterprises, you will be responsible and accountable for day-to-day management of quality assurance, quality engineering, process quality assistance, testing,and other related roles. This role will provide technical direction and oversight to lead the team through the transformation required to ensure modern software testing practices and test automation are being applied with rigor equally and consistently across four different Service Delivery teams. You’ll directly supervise QA portfolio leads, software quality engineers, contract testers, test automation engineers, and other QA professionals.
Candidate must be a proven leader in IT with experience managing the quality of delivery for complex multi-technology solutions. Candidate will be responsible for setting the bar for Software Quality processes across the organization, and leading the team through the changes required to ensure that this bar is achieved and maintained. Candidate must possess experience with developing Testing and Quality Assistance teams as well as championing change. Candidate must collaborate with long-tenured QA associates, while providing leadership, insight, and guidance on overall testing and quality processes. The job entails leveraging the team to ensure approved policies and practices are followed, measuring product and process quality, and collaborating on the standardization of the tools, techniques, staffing, and methodologies that ensure the efficient release of quality products and solutions. Due to an emphasis on standardizing the automation of tests and processes, the candidate should be familiar with modern techniques for automated testing, ideally with experience using purchased testing tools and custom developed test code.
Candidate will combine management expertise and technical chops in the efficient execution of these goals. You understand that automation is core to scaling and delivery velocity. Individuals in this role must understand the roles of the Software Quality Assurance team within the SDLC and be able to implement best practices and standard policies and procedures. Candidate should possess the ability to motivate the team and to cultivate a trusting culture, achieving software engineering excellence. This role is responsible for providing guidance to the team to ensure both team and organizational objectives are met. You will mentor the team in program level, project level, and quality governance decision making and execution.
