Job Description

Based in beautiful Los Angeles, we are LoJack / CalAmp, the pure-play pioneering leader of the Connected Car, Connected Truck and broader Internet of Things (IoT) marketplace. Currently, we are seeking an Account Manager with an interest or experience in building relationships, training, and problem solving. This is a home-based (remote) position. The ideal candidate is located in Los Angeles County.

  • This is a "farmer" role supporting our Automotive Dealer clients in Los Angeles and Las Vegas.
  • Drives overall customer retention and business expansion with assigned accounts.
  • Trains dealership employees on how to successfully and profitably execute /maintain a LoJack Pre-install program
  • Develops LoJack Stolen Vehicle Recovery (SVR) and telematics sales action plans to improve dealership penetration results and increase dealer and LoJack revenue and profits.
  • Conducts effective customer business reviews with dealer management; communicates program results and recommends action plans.
  • Trains, directs and communicates with floor sales individuals, desk managers, and finance managers
  • Successfully navigates LoJack’s reporting systems; is the subject matter expert with pulling reports and sharing relevant information with their accounts.
  • Documents and shares best practices related to selling, launching and servicing Pre-Install accounts.
  • Works directly with other members of the sales organization to implement best practices and drive continued focus across corporate functions on relevant programs and system improvements.
  • Works closely with the dealership's accounting department to ensure timely receipt of receivables; addresses invoicing issues and provides recommendations for improved processes when necessary.
  • Provides ongoing input on the effectiveness of key corporate initiatives in assigned dealerships.
  • Gathers and reports competitive activity to the Business Development Manager, Area Business Director and other corporate Sales and Marketing personnel.
  • Participates in cross-functional efforts to improve and automate programs, processes and systems.
  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully.
  • Works with integrity and in an ethical manner, up-holding organizational values.

Must Haves:

  • Significant automotive car dealership experience or expertise
  • Willing and able to travel 80% of the time (mileage reimbursed)
  • Outgoing personality with the ability to connect with people quickly and build meaningful business relationships with dealer partners
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Intermediate - Advanced MS Excel skills
  • Problem solver
  • Analytical mindset
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple requests concurrently
  • Strong verbal, written and presentation skills

Strong Pluses:

  • Bachelor's in communication, business, or similar
  • Background in sales and/or account management
  • Experience training large groups
  • Knowledge of fleet telematics and/or inventory management
