Job Description

Job Summary

The Mgr Financial Reporting oversees the preparation of external financial reporting in accordance with the appropriate GAAP including SEC filings, and statutory filings to ensure accurate and timely filings. Assists in monitoring GAAP and implementing new guidance. Responsible for maintenance of accounting policy manual. Assists in technical analysis projects and ad hoc projects as necessary.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Prepares financial disclosures in the Company's corporate and/or statutory filings.
  • Maintains supporting documentation for the information contained in the periodic filings.
  • Prepares quarterly and ad hoc financial schedules and analysis for senior management and external auditors.
  • Manages the annual 401(k) and pension plan financial statements and audits.
  • Assists in research and implementation of new accounting guidance.
  • Assists in writing accounting position papers, accounting policies and procedures.
  • Reviews monthly and quarterly debt covenant and regulatory reporting.
  • Evaluates regulatory financial surveys.
  • Supports Financial Reporting Director with ad hoc analysis or special projects as assigned.

    • Qualifications

    Education

  • BA/BS;
  • Four year degree in accounting required or related field.
  • CPA certificate (or demonstrated effort and intent to obtain a certificate).

    • Experience

  • 5 - 7 years
  • A minimum of 3 years increasingly responsible public accounting and/or financial accounting experience.
  • Experience with accounting pronouncement related research and application of pronouncement.
  • Knowledge of and experience with SEC filing and regulatory requirements preferred.

    • Essential Skills

  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines and to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft office in both creation and use of spreadsheets and word documents preferred.
