About this Role:
Work Schedule: 3rd Shift - 11:00pm - 7:30am - Sunday - Thursday
The Manufacturing Supervisor I supervises and coordinates a small manufacturing work area in accordance with scheduled manufacturing build requirements and quality performance standards. S/he coaches, trains, and guides employees to work as a team that value accountability, trust, and overall cohesiveness with the goal of producing the highest performance and quality in the manufacturing products.

Essential Job Functions/Tasks:
1. Communicates, trains, guides and coaches employees to achieve operational initiatives that optimize team efforts in the manufacturing of high quality products.
2. Provides hands-on supervision of manufacturing floor personnel. Identifies and recommends training and development opportunities to drive a culture of teamwork with high quality output. Continuously communicates operational standards and process improvement initiatives to the staff. Gives feedback and direction to low performers and recognition and praise to high performers. Clearly communicates how each employee contributes to the success of the team in achieving excellent KPI results.
3. Schedules and assigns personnel to work according to the demand of the manufacturing schedules. Continually assesses the limitations of equipment capacity and materials supply to directly make adjustments to personal for optimization of manufacturing output. Assesses each employee's abilities and skills to match with capabilities required for each area of the manufacturing floor.
4. Continuously monitors and tracks output, manufacturing processes, labor efficiencies, direct operating expenses, and quality indicators for assigned cost centers. Measures performance and quality, and drives positive results in operational KPIs. Recommends adjustments to processes and resolutions to issues. Reports on these KPIs to the manager.
5. Tracks manufacturing expenses against the budget and recommends measures for cost reduction as well as any need for additional supplies, equipment, and personnel.
6. Establishes and builds working relationships with other departmental personnel, such as Planning, Maintenance, Engineering, Finance, and Quality, to meet production schedules and resolve difficult or continuing problems and initiate continuous improvement efforts. Meets regularly on a formal basis with such groups to review production results and improvement priorities.
Other Job Functions:
Provides support and assistance when needed in all areas of the department. Keeps work area clean and orderly.
Performs other related tasks as assigned, some of which may become essential to the position.
Responsibility for safety is an important part of the supervisory position at Hunter Industries. It can only be successful when each supervisor and lead understands that they play a key role in the implementation of the company Injury and Illness Prevention Program and safety procedures. They are to recognize hazards and correct unsafe conditions in a timely manner. They should set the tone for safety by personal example and commitment to following company safety policies. Supervisor and lead personnel should investigate work related injuries and illnesses and take corrective and preventive action, including disciplining those who break the rules. Violators should be treated with fairness and firmness.RequirementsEducation/Training Required:
Associates Degree Preferred or equivalent education/experience.
Experience Required:
Minimum three years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Minimum of two years of experience in a supervisory role.

KSA #1: Excellent people management skills including the ability to communicate clear expectations to inspire, energize, and motivate the team. Identify and develop key performing employees. Understand succession planning and guide employees in career planning. Experience or knowledge of developing and training employees.

KSA #3: Experience working with manufacturing methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing and Six-Sigma.
KSA #4: Experience in developing, implementing and improving key performance indicator metrics through strong data analysis and continuous improvement.

KSA #8: Skilled in data driven decision making including the ability to collect, analyze, and present statistically valid manufacturing data (cost, capacity, ROI, yield, utilization and efficiencies).

KSA #10: Knowledge of physical mechanisms and engineering phenomena associated with the manufacture and performance of products.
KSA #11: Requires moderate proficiency in use of computer with ability to perform word processing and to use spreadsheets.

Physical Demands:

Work Environment:
Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, odors and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and may require PPE.
