I started off like everybody else as a reservation specialist and very quickly it was promoted to loyalty care. And when I chose to leave the company which was a very hard decision, I had just been offered luxury. There are times when the support staff is absent so that definitely needs improvement but my manager was absolutely awesome. She is a lovely person and really wants to see everyone on her team succeed. The training class I was in had some issues but got through it. The only issues are really immature people that really didn't want to be there. They did teach me everything I needed to know to do a good job though. The health insurance benefits are amazing as is the retirement package. I really wish I had not left. This is not a hard job. Just bring along some patience to deal with your customers and your smile voice. You will do great.

Pros and Cons
Insurance benefits, quick promotion
Lack of on site support, horrible software

Sometime you can't even work cause of their system and they act like it's not their fault . They make you open a ticket everyday and then no one calls to fix the problem, and managers say well did you call everyday .....its their job not ours to be techs. They never communicate to one another at all. Everyone says something different too.

Pros and Cons
Discounts on hotels
Lack of communication and equipment not working .

Started my over 25 year career with Marriott with an front office entry level role, quickly took opportunities to grow/develop and work my way to management. Eventually transition to other departments and took flight towards a path that challenged me to work in multiple properties, locations, states, and more. My career grew with Marriott and I discovered my nitch, loving hospitality, learning, development of others. Unfortunately the pandemic ended my time with Marriott, but thanks to Marriott, my now career was very much possible. I enjoyed being a part of and representing your values of putting people first, embracing change/innovation, diversity/inclusion, and giving the best service! Thank you Marriott!

Pros and Cons
Values, diversity, inclusion, recognition, development, service, fair pay, leadership, perks.
Pay below other hospitality industries. Down-size departments. More work less pay/incentives.

It was becoming one of the best hotels or jobs I had. Once Marriott brought Gaylord and then made a Marriott by the convention center it took the business my job had and once that happen. They went bankrupt and started forcing people out firing them for lame reasons. To save money a lot of people got a severance check.

Pros and Cons
If you at the right hotel the people will be amazing to work at

Being assigned in the Far East pacific region, traveling to those places are 80% of my time. The accommodations are always top rated as we always stay at Marriott Hotels and if none are available, there are always other excellent hotels around. You work with teams that are all experienced and professional.

Pros and Cons
Company benefits are one of the best.

The management and leads were very unorganized and not team orientated at all. They didnt care about employees or communicate what so ever. Toxic environment with gossip, bullying, and short staff. Many people were over worked, doing double shifts and never getting any help. It was TERRIBLY RAN AND PROBABLY STILL IS TODAY!

Pros and Cons
None. Go to any marriott except for park ridge.

after the changing the VP in tax department, the value and culture significantly declined. The uppper-management used his/her power to let people go and pursue his/her own personal interests. "Talker" is a big shot, but "doer" is invisible. They are playing politics.

This place is everything that’s wrong with the service industry. The working environment is unbearable. There is no return air in the kitchen, the equipment is sub par, falling apart and tapped together. The management and sales team stumble through day to day events, and the staff is neglected, underpaid and overworked.
