ABB is seeking a Materials Manager for its Alamo, TN location. This role is responsible for managing a variety of complex supply management and transportation activities and independently perform a variety of complex assignments to ensure timely and efficient operations. Ensure compliance with the Company's quality standards and business requirements, and promote customer satisfaction. Monitor progress and initiate corrective actions to meet objectives. Materials Management includes forecasting and determining requirements, establishing priorities, scheduling and initiating measures to ensure proper control of parts, materials and tooling.
Your responsibilities
Plan, schedule and assign work considering customer requirements, priorities, and available resources. Develop procedures for the section and independently perform various special projects in direct support of senior management.
Manage the evaluation of supplier, vendor and transportation groups and direct the identification and utilization of those that best meet Company requirements. Ensure that terms and conditions of contracts are favorable to the Company.
Manage the preparation of plans, oversee project schedules and related activities, and initiate actions as necessary meet commitments.
Coordinate team activities and provide technical assistance to less experienced staff.
Direct the review of specifications, terms, conditions, and other contractual issues, and oversee progress to ensure meeting schedules.
Anticipate and assess potential impact of problems and initiate preventive measures.
Ensure customer satisfaction and compliance with laws and regulations.
Represent organization at meetings and exert considerable influence on such matters as resolving difficult problems and developing strategic plans. Recommend and implement changes to achieve operating efficiencies and increase customer satisfaction.
Provide guidance and training to staff, manage and document employee performance and develop associated recommendations.
Your background
Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field and 8+ years of experience; OR
Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field and 12+ years of experience
Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
Understanding of demand side operations planning preferred
Experience with leading and deploying the SIOP process preferred
Proven managerial experience leading teams
Solid understanding of supply chain and inventory management systems
Advanced knowledge of forecasting and budgeting processes
Outstanding communication and leadership skills
Analytical mind with excellent problem-solving abilities
Working knowledge of SAP MM
Proficient in MS Office
Excellent organizational and leadership skills
