About Mathematical Statistician

What does a Mathematical Statistician do?

As Mathematical statisticians, we determine what problems or questions need analysis to resolve. We assess data analysis needs and the appropriate methods for data collection and analysis. Some of us collect data, analyze it, interpret results and make conclusions. We prepare reports that communicate the results of the studies. We design surveys and other instruments for collecting data and manage computerized databases of information.

Core tasks:

  • collect, analyze and process data
  • interpret and conclude data analysis
  • communicating with persons outside the organization
