Concerns about work life balance. Workload is excessive and not distributed in a level loading fashion. Lacking leadership and procedure to enable staff to understand and execute their duties.

Amazing, sustainable company that i would work for forever. Values and recognition are so inportant & Mattel is amazing at both.

The show I was brought in to consult on was not very well run. The hoops that you were made to jump through to get paid took months. A number of writers quit the show because it took so long to get paid. It was an uninspiring project but if other aspects of the work of pleasurable, then it can be an okay situation. This had neither. Plus, the person in charge was fired halfway though and the new regime brought in some questionable replacements. I was long gone by this time, so it didn't effect me. Let's just say that no one I knew on the show had a good time.

Mattel is the largest employer of creative talent next to Hallmark Greeting Cards. The talent level is very high and the expectations are even higher.

Wonderful coworkers. As I think back the turnover was pretty high. It was a blessing I survived 14 years in Preschool.

Good company overall, middle management (VPs and SVP) can do a lot better. There is quite a bit of silo communication and interaction.

Team of highly motivated self-directed members. Good leadership from above! I was very excited for the opportunity AND for the team of outstanding individuals who comprised our team!

Mattel has a ton of great benefits including child care, health insurance, long and short-term disability, etc. It was fun designing packaging for all of the Adult Collectible Barbies.
