Medecision is a 100% remote company. The people that work outside of mid-upper management are just wonderful and very dedicated. Most of the middle-upper management staff are disconnected from healthcare and are micro-managers. The company has no real concreate sales structure and has struggled to sell a new platform, to the point in which they had to lay people off. Some of the people let go had been with the company for many years and were legacy support for existing products. The history of Medecision seems to be based on frequent layoffs. I wish I would had known about this prior to working for the company.

Pros and Cons
Wonderful co-workers
Micro-management leaders with more focus on data than understanding the healthcare/payer markets.

Thanks for sharing, this is intriguing as someone with a passion in healthcare IT, do you see any potential for restructuing the sales strategy despite the management challenges?

I do not. They had restructured prior to the last major layoff. The baseline issues come from the top, or CEO of the company and the drive to inflict disruption with their clients. Medecision works in the payer/3rd party markets. It would be more beneficial for the company to focus on the functionality of the new platform rather than pressure clients to make decisions concerning approvals that can have profound impacts for their clients and their businesses. Word gets around in this section of the healthcare market in SaaS.
