About Media Planner

What does a Media Planner do?

As Media Planners, we apply previous campaigns' data to improve schedule building over time. We also maintain all necessary trackers, spreadsheets, reports, and account information specific to the account list to execute budget revisions, including incremental spending and cancellations, as needed. We provide feedback for potential improvement areas by working with other departments as necessary to achieve the company's short- and long-term goals. We gather and summarize marketplace intelligence relative to sales and programming in order to generate, track, and distribute sales reports.

Core tasks:

  • make data-informed targeting and channel recommendations
  • liaise between sales and internal creative services, account, and operations teams
  • manage workflows around insertion orders and other campaign documentation
