What does a Medical Office Specialist do?

As Medical Office Specialists, we are responsible for providing administrative services to ensure all patients receive the optimal level of timely treatment. We check-in and screen all patients to see if they have insurance. Scheduling appointments and answering phone calls are also a part of our duty. We organize and retrieve patient medical history and data. We collect and record co-pays. Working as Medical Office Specialists, we are responsible for following the cash security policy and procedures guidelines. We give patients a brief introduction to the center and all available facilities. Finally, we collect personal details from the patient for our record.

  • ensuring optimal customer service to the patients and visitors
  • maintaining a neat and orderly work area and patient waiting room
