About Medical Services Coordinator

What does a Medical Services Coordinator do?

As Medical Services Coordinators, we are responsible for completing medical services activities following departmental goals, policies, and workflow. We assist medical staff with necessary aspects of patient care. Keeping in contact with medical staff and patients in a timely and competent manner is also a part of our duty. We answer and direct telephone calls to the medical services department when required. We answer all voicemails left on the patient's side. Working as Medical Services Coordinators, we are responsible for sending messages to medical staff via EMR messaging. We take care of medical emergencies in an effective manner. Finally, we make contact between patients, doctors, and pharmacies.

Core tasks:

  • collecting and updating patient's data in electronic systems
  • building collegial relationships with clinical staff and patients
  • protecting any release of information forms required by clients
  • providing clinical support for optimal functioning of the department
