The
Licensing Manager
leads a team of Licensing Professionals who process license requests for Physicians and other medical providers. The Licensing Manager will partner with internal department leaders, providers, and state medical Boards to assist in obtaining state licenses for medical providers. The role is responsible for ensuring physician licenses are obtained timely in order to support scheduling needs of the organization as well as aggressive growth targets. The Manager is responsible for all aspects of the licensing process including ensuring applications are submitted accurately and efficiently, reporting status of license requests to all levels of the organization, maintaining relationships with key staff at licensing boards and monitoring changes in states requirements for licensure. The role reports to the Vice President, Provider Network Operations.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers (i. e. Licensing boards, physicians, internal department leaders)
- Communicates with boards regarding licensure qualifications and specific licensing questions and updates state profiles accordingly
- Manage day-to-day licensing process for a team of approximately 6 licensing professionals.
- Work with leadership to determine appropriate prioritization of all requests and ensure the licensing team is appropriately focused on these priorities.
- Report status updates to leadership with high degree of accuracy and frequency
- Review provider applications for accuracy and identify error trends and opportunities for staff training
- Monitor and manage licensing team performance
- Effectively manage large amounts of information and documentation
- Other projects as assigned by management
Experience:
Required
- At least 5 years of experience in Medical Licensing and/or related field that involves a fast-paced team environment, effective decision-making and problem-solving skills
- At least 2 years of experience managing and leading a team
Preferred
- Experience with Joint Commission Accreditation Standards
- Experience in telemedicine
Education
:
Required
- High School Diploma or equivalent and 2 years of relevant experience
Preferred
- Bachelor s degree in healthcare related field
- CPCS or CPMSM certification

- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and web based applications
- Professional level written and oral communication skills
- Proven time management and prioritization skills focusing on urgent and overlapping deadlines

Preferred:
- Possess a working knowledge of medical terminology
