MEMBERSHIP ENGAGEMENT DIRECTOR Reports to the President The mission of the Goshen Chamber of Commerce is to champion our community's business future. The primary responsibility for the person filling the position is to provide leadership in the development of programs that provide value to our members by connecting and building networks with each other, providing program that offers opportunities to develop their business skills, and keeping them informed on those issues impacting their business and community. Part of the responsibility will be to achieve overall sales and retention objectives to aid in carrying out the Chamber's mission. Another responsibility for

TASKS

  • Establish and oversee administrative procedures to meet objectives set by boards of directors or senior management.
  • Direct activities of professional and technical staff members and volunteers.
  • Evaluate the work of staff and volunteers to ensure that programs are of appropriate quality and that resources are used effectively.
  • Participate in the determination of organizational policies regarding such issues as participant eligibility, program requirements, and program benefits.

  • Administration and ManagementKnowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • ClericalKnowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, stenography and transcription, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
  • Customer and Personal ServiceKnowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Personnel and Human ResourcesKnowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiation, and personnel information systems.
