About Merchandise Assistant

What does a Merchandise Assistant do?

As Merchandising assistants, we help to merchandise department run smoothly, largely relying on the merchandising managers' orders. We are responsible for competitive analysis for goods and develop marketing strategies. Some of us help and educate new assistants, seasonal staff and interns that join the team. We track inputs coming in from all directions and type it into database programs for future reference. We track inventory, schedule deliveries, write notes on prices, identify vendor terms, file artwork, process invoices and manage purchasing orders.

Core tasks:

  • prepare and maintain various sales reports
  • provide administrative assistance for the buying and stocking of goods.
  • coordination with vendors
  • keep different variety sheets and brand metrics up to date
  • keep track of all purchase orders
