In Baltimore, MD, MET Laboratories, Inc was founded in 1959 and has grown to become a global leader in product approvals and regulatory certification of electrical products. MET cracked the UL monopoly in product safety testing and certification in the United States in 1989, and is now authorized to certify items in more than 200 UL standard categories. MET Labs is a trusted source of electrical product testing and regulatory certification for leading brands and companies in the United States, Europe, and across the world. MET joined the Eurofins Scientific network in 2018 and has since become an important part of Eurofins' product testing range. The MET Mark for product safety is recognized in the United States and Canada, indicating that it complies with federal rules for safe workplace use. MET was the first NRTL (Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory) in the United States to be recognized by OSHA 30 years ago. In all 50 states, the NRTL mark is required by federal law for products used in the workplace. Products from the MET are also available in all major retail outlets in the United States and Canada.
