Founded in 1889 Michelin is a company well-known for manufacturing and marketing of tires. The company provides services for different type of vehicles, such as airplanes, automobiles, motorcycles, earthmovers, farm equipment and trucks. Alongside, Michelin also renders digital mobility supportive services and publishes travel guide, hotel and restaurant guides, and road atlases. Headquartered in Clermont-Ferrand, France, Michelin has sales agencies in over 171 countries and operates 69 tire production plants in 17 different countries with 111,200 employees. Michelin has a Technology Center with seven R&D centers in different parts of the world. Michelin has received an award at the “Grand Prix de l Acceleration Digital” from BFM Business in the “Transformation of Customer Relations” category. Michelin has also received the Sustainable Industry Award, for “zero CO2 emissions” challenges met by its plant in Revanches, France. Digital technology is an opportunity for Michelin to understand customers whereas the company goal is to make all plants carbon neutral by 2050.
