I taught evening courses while working at Essex county college during the day. I liked working there and the Humanities Chair seemed to like me and was interested in the historical book I was then writing. But I ran into a problem dudring my third demester. I had a class of a dozen mostly white students--mostly female--with two non-white students. When the semester was over, I was given courses for the following semester. Then the Chairman called me, informing me that several students had complained about me. I went to speak to the Dean with him and was informed that a white female student had complained that I continually stared at her, which was not true. So I was not rehired for the next semester and found out later that several white students (females) had written disparaging things about me on the Internet, while the two non-white students gave me glowing reviews.

Pros and Cons
A really nice school and working atmosphere.
Too many privileged students who didn't mind lying on a professor.
