Our client is currently seeking a Migration Program Manager (data center)
Permanent full-time position
Travel is expected for this role. They will sit onsite at client about 50% of the time.
We are looking for a Migration SME for the Migration Practice
The individual needs to be a very experienced migration professional who can provide advice across multiple engagements while leading projects and assisting with proposals to support the wider team.
The individual would be immediately assigned to end-client as an Engagement Manager; full time based in NY with travel to a client site.
Responsibilities for this engagement:
Primary interface with client stakeholders and sponsors
Manage commercials for overall engagement (resource time burn-down, profitability, invoicing, etc.)
Provide SME expertise in relevant migration workstreams
Coordinate and manage each workstream and related resources to ensure consistency, quality and timeliness of work delivery
General Responsibilities and skill set
Responsible for providing leadership for projects and managing client engagements
Consult directly with senior management teams within our clients
Project work is varied, but includes: Data Center strategy development, technology strategy development, capacity modeling, collocation search and migration, financial analysis, technical studies, feasibility studies, and technical oversight of strategy and execution projects
Must be capable of working in a consultative environment
Must be capable of working with geographically and technically diverse teams
Must be capable of providing technical leadership in one or more areas while collaborating with project and program management teams
Must be capable of interfacing with a wide range of technical and business representatives within our client base
Knowledge of data center and technology trends and how they impact our client base
General knowledge current server, virtualization, storage, networking, voice, market data, trading systems, etc.
Familiarity with financial industry technologies: market data, trading systems, trader voice, exchange connectivity, etc.
Ability to interact with business and application representatives
Ability to synthesize rational technical requirements from business and operational requirements
Working knowledge of disaster recovery and business continuity concepts and practices
High-level understanding of data center infrastructure: power, cooling, cabling, layout, operations
High-level understanding of technology investment and management: ability build budgets, scope projects, manage technology vendors, etc.
Basic project management skills: ability to run small projects and work within a program management structure for larger project
Familiarity with large enterprise organizational structure and decision processes
Ability to working and deliver projects independently or as part of a larger team
Ability to aggregate and organization information across disciplines to develop cohesive strategies
Qualifications & Experience
Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business or related field or equivalent job experience.
MSP, Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent Certification
ITIL and/or Agile Certifications beneficial
Fifteen (15) years management experience preferably at least five (5) years senior level experience.
Minimum ten (10) years' experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects
Minimum ten (10) years' experience working with financial institutions.
Experience in directing large program / project teams for complex projects
Good working knowledge of information technology disciplines
Ability to write effective proposals, reports, technical analyses, and business analyses
Ability to develop and present effective PowerPoint presentations to technical and senior leadership
Ability to communicate with senior leadership within our client base: SVP, Managing Directors, CxO, etc.
Ability to communicate effectively with line managers, technical leaders and their direct reports
Ability to communicate with business and non-technical user based to understand operational requirements
Ability to travel throughout the US and abroad as required
