Nurse Specialist Unexplained Deaths and Critical Illnesses

I investigated deaths with unknown causes that presented as an illness and deaths from known agents that presented within situations that could lead to large or small epidemics, working collaboratively with families, health care facilities, coroners, CDC, county , state and federal agencies and directly with laboratorians at the state and federal (CDC) level. It was the most interesting job I ever had, but I was not an actual epidemiologist. Although I loved the challenge, my best skills are in program and staff development, and new product development.
Pros and Cons
I learned so much and would have stayed and learned and increased my skills if available.
Without the statistic skills I was not valued as much as other staff.
