About Monitor Technician

What does a Monitor Technician do?

As Monitor Technicians, we observe and interpret patients' heart monitors and check for any abnormalities, including irregular heartbeats, arrhythmias, and cardiac arrest. We are also responsible for attaching electrodes to patients' bodies to record electrical impulses from the heart to perform EKGs by using the hospital's equipment and medical technology. We recognize and respond professionally to any anomaly in the patients' heartbeat while interpreting the test results and report any changes in the heart readings or EKGs to the Doctor or Nurse in charge of that patient. We update patients' records with all readings taken from the heart monitors or EKGs and ensure that those machines are regularly cleaned and maintained.

Core tasks:

  • perform various tests such as stress tests on the patients' heart
  • report all necessary equipment repairs
  • deliver high-quality patient care services in accordance with the hospital's image
