Morgan State University, established in 1867, is a Carnegie-classified doctoral educational institution that offers more than 125 undergraduate programs leading to degrees ranging from the baccalaureate to the doctorate to a multiethnic, multiracial, and multinational student base. Morgan fulfills its mandate as Maryland's Preeminent Public Urban Research University by addressing the demands and challenges that the state faces in the modern urban environment. Morgan's impressive, 152-acre campus is located in a quaint suburban area of northeast Baltimore near the old communities of Morgan Park and Wilson Park. It provides state-of-the-art facilities oriented toward creative teaching process in the twenty-first century. It has a total undergraduate intake of 6,461 students, is located in an urban area, and covers 170 acres. Tuition and fees for in-state students are $8,008; tuition and fees for out-of-state students are $18,480.
