In 2008, Multnomah became the University of Multnomah, a more precise overarching title that incorporates all of its institutional components. It became necessary to characterize Multnomah in modern terminology to include adult degree completion and non-seminary master's degree programs to the current college and Biblical Seminary divisions. It is the mission of university to allow Christian students to become biblically competent, spiritually developed, academically competent, and culturally committed servant leaders through higher education, molded to be a transformative force in the church, culture, and nation. Its mission is to be a vibrant community that equips students through their lives and jobs to love Christ and support their neighbors. Multnomah's core principles are scriptural centrality, faith close to Christ, administrative dignity, academic excellence, meaningful speech, group nurturing, collaboration with the church, global outreach, cultural contribution.
