About Music Therapist

What does a Music Therapist do?

As Music Therapists, we collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ascertain whether individuals qualify for music therapy. We also design musical interventions based on therapeutic goals to improve clients' psychological, physical, and social health, monitor clients during the musical interventions, and measure sessions' effectiveness. We also invite clients to interact by encouraging them to sing and dance while recording and videotaping them periodically to measure the efficacy and progress. We conduct periodic assessments to re-evaluate clients and coach Music Therapist interns.

Core tasks:

  • keep records of clients' progress
  • maintain and purchase musical instruments
  • attend multiple meetings with other professionals involved in the care of our patients
