Newport News Nuclear BWXT Los Alamos (N3B) is an HII Nuclear, the division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, limited liability company.The primary responsibility of N3B is to identify, maintain and clean up legacy waste at Los Alamos National Laboratory. Legacy waste is classified as waste generated before 1999. N3B workers also bundle and transport nuclear and toxic waste off-site for permanent disposal. N3B operates in two main areas: waste management and environmental remediation. The company's mission is to clean up the atmosphere and protect our natural resources. The organization insists on investing in a professional workforce and also provides rigorous educational programs for the workforce. Participants become full-time N3B workers after they begin training, earn reasonable pay and full compensation, and retirement packages. In addition, N3B's internship program provides 10 applicants with career experience each summer as they navigate college. Students learn new and improved knowledge and skills,  and the importance of networking.
