The NAACP Legal Protection and Educational Foundation, Inc. is the oldest legal organization in America that advocates for racial justice. LDF seeks systemic reforms through litigation, lobbying, and public education to expand democracy, eradicate inequalities, and promote social justice in a nation that fulfills the pledge of equality for all Americans. The mission of LDF has always been transformative: to achieve social justice, equality, and a community that is inclusive. Unprecedented challenges to the hard-won advances of the last half-century are raised by the current political landscape and a decline in key areas of civil laws like fresh attacks on the freedom to vote, to a renewed campaign to eliminate fair access to public education, to the reversal of criminal justice.
