Established in 1965, Napa Valley served the American Canyon, Napa City, and Yountville communities in the Unified School District. The district consists of 29 schools that offer service in 12th and in adult education, serving more than 17,000 students in the transitional kindergarten. All students have their own strengths, preferences, needs and objectives. This means that advanced learners who wish to extend their learning horizons and who have physical, emotional or cognitive challenges which require greater assistance are nurtured and challenged. They offer intensive college classes, comprehensive job preparation and numerous athletic and extra-curricular programmes. Students can learn English-Spanish dual immersion, online options and more in conventional neighbourhood schools, magneting schools, independent study.
