National Basketball Association is a national sports association that manages the professional basketball league in the US. The league is composed of 30 teams, 29 in the United States and 1 in Canada, and is recognized by the FIBA as the national governing body for basketball in the United States. The league’s history dates back to the formation of The Basketball Association of America, founded in 1946, which was later rebranded to its present name in 1949. The organization is headquartered in Midtown Manhattan, USA, with numerous international and team offices present across the country, managing and operating its own streaming services, the NBA Entertainment and NBA TV, through studios located in Secaucus, New Jersey.
