The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) is based in Bethesda, Maryland, USA. It is the third largest organisation of the National Institutes of Health. Which is responsible for the distribution of about $3.0 billion in tax income each year. For health professionals and the public, the NHLBI carries out outreach programmes, including the production and distribution of materials in the above-mentioned fields, with a focus on prevention. The NHLBI promotes the scientific skills and career growth of new and emerging scientists in natural sciences and medical sciences to allow them to perform basic and clinical research heart - related, blood vessels, lung and blood disorders. The NHLBI is funding the Annual Wear Red Day and the Heart Reality Initiative, a national female's outreach program on cardiovascular disease.
