Oil and Gas price dropped for many years. 5 layoffs across the board. I was retained until the 5th one because of Covid, then finally laid off. The day I was laid off there were three instructors including me that were laid off. We taught a total of 13 classes no one else did that were still there. I designed and priced a portable highly sophisticated simulator for the new NOV RCX BOP control system. Just prior to layoff, I sent almost everything to the shared drive so the remaining instructor could continue building the class I started and the simulator I designed and priced. He was given two weeks and made no progress and did not have the knowledge to continue what I started. So they lost quality, industrious instructors, innovative instructors, and must spend months or years to qualify for the 13 classes no one is qualified to teach.

Pros and Cons
We had birthday parties, 10% bonus, raises every several years or more, but all of that ended.
They got rid of the higher paid personnel. Most of the smartest, and hardest workers.
