The National Ski Patrol is a professional, non-profit organization of registered ski patrols that provide training and education programs for emergency rescuers for the outdoor recreation public. It was founded in 1938 and is headquartered in Lakewood, CO, USA. It offers training in management, safety programs, out-of-doors emergency care, and transport facilities to its employees. They train in snowboarding, tubing, and snow-skating for new safety and rescue techniques and emergency care methods. It has retained over 28,000 members who serve more than 650 patrols, including Nordic, alpine, and auxiliary patrollers.
