The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) is one among the five system commands of the United States Navy. NAVSEA was founded in 1974 by Commodore John Barry who oversaw the construction of a 44-gun frigate, with its present Commander RADM, William Galinis. NAVSEA command comprises four shipyards for building, repair, and conservation of ships and 10 warfare centres. This government firm holds a strong objective to buy, build, and maintain the US Navy’s fleet of ships and combat systems employing over 82000 military and civilian personnel taking care of 150 acquisition programs. The NAVSEA headquarters is located at the Washington Navy Yard in Washington D.C., with other offices spanning across 15 states and 3 oversea continents.
