The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) was founded in 1971. It is the main state agency in North Carolina. It has so far employed more than 19,000 people and has helped thousands of North Carolinians particularly the vulnerable children, elderly, disabled, and those from poor backgrounds. The department works jointly with health care specialists, advocacy groups, community leaders, federal entities, local, state, and other stakeholders to achieve its goals and objectives. It has helped to improve the living standards of the target groups while upholding high levels of professionalism and respect for humanity. The impact it has created speaks for itself as it has publically reported on the number of people benefitting from the program.
