The Network Security Engineer is part of the IT Department for the City of Naperville which is currently undergoing a transformation that will take the City to a cloud-centric environment. Recently completed was a migration to Exchange Online. Current projects underway include Windows 10 deployment, Office365, SharePoint Online, Skype for Business as well as a SaaS ERP project. The Network Security Engineer is a key member of this team. Some of the responsibilities of the Network Security Engineer will include Installs, upgrades, troubleshoots and repairs a variety of software, hardware and infrastructure, including firewalls, routers, switches, servers, storage, Voice over IP (VoIP) phone system, data backup and virtual infrastructure. Monitors security advisory guidance to ensure all necessary network security updates, patches and preventive measures are in place. Installs, maintains, monitors and troubleshoots firewalls, intrusion preventiondetection systems and other network and server infrastructure to ensure the security and integrity of the Cityrsquos information systems. Acts as a lead staff resource for network implementation and network security related projects. Leads project teams in creating, evaluating, modifying and implementing network configurations to maximize network efficiency, in alignment with existing technology investments and long term strategic plans. Required Associatersquos Degree in Computer Science or a related field. Three years of experience in network security. Valid Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Security certification. Current Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) or equivalent. Valid State of Illinois Driverrsquos License. Preferred Licenses, Certifications Valid Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Security certification.
