The New York State Assembly is the state legislature's power house. The Assembly is made up of 150 members who represent an equal number of districts, each with a population of 128,652. Members of the Assembly serve two-year terms with no term restrictions. The Assembly meets in Albany at the State Capitol. The Assembly is presided over by the Speaker of the Assembly. The Majority Conference elects the Speaker, whom the whole Assembly then confirms by adopting an Assembly Resolution. They have a team that consists of staff members and supporting staff.
