Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) is a public community college offering hybrid learning options to traditional/nontraditional learners, in its 130 degree and certificate programs, along with convenient locations and affordable in-state tuition. NOVA is part of the Virginia Community College System, composed of six campuses and four centers, attaining the 2nd position on the list of largest multi-campus community colleges in the United States. Northern Virginia Technical College was established in 1964 and its growing popularity led the institute to purchase 78 acres (320,000 m2) in Annandale in 1966 to create the first of six permanent campus sites. An average of 77,000 students have opted NOVA to be their place of study, to get a degree, earn credits and enhance their future careers. A staff of 2500 educators has been employed to guide and help students, with further vacancies open to other educators and academic staff, looking to join NOVA.
