Been there for about 5 years and had to admit that, based on my personal view, this is perhaps the worst major aerospace company that I have been involved in my 25+ years career with many other major aerospace companies. New management leadership is incredibly poor and lack of leadership experience even though I thought old management team would be much better if they were not disappointed with the future path of business growth, and therefore most of the experienced leadership folks decided to leave the company just prior to my departure. The company has consistently mistreated talents and intentionally ignored to promote or reward the skilled employees. I will never think for a second to come back to work for this company even if I am unemployed.
Pros and Cons
Big company with great chance of job security. Some team members are good to work with.
Poor leadership team. Working environment is inadequate. Talent recognition is almost ignorant

I've worked in Northrop Grumman for 16 years in three different jobs and Sectors. When one job or contract ran it's course, they would always offer me new opportunities.

I worked close to 10 years straight for NOC and found it a worthwhile work experience. During that time, the facility in Melbourne was primarily involved in the development and support of the E8-C USAF project (aka Joint STARS). I was on engineering development projects and also worked major proposal efforts. I started as a development engineer moved along to project lead and did some functional management as well. I decided to leave as I tired of the uneven 'feast or famine' work environment (i.e., periods of intense work including continuous overtime requirements followed by periods of not much to keep me occupied). Project wise, it was an unstable environment that often found you tossed around different programs working for different task masters.
Pros and Cons
Provided the ability to interact with other engineers in differing disciplines.
Unstable project environment with inconsistent workloads.

I worked at Northrop Grumman for 16 years and in that time there was very limited potential for upward movement in management. The ones that they did promote were nothing but yes-man and got there because they didn’t want them working on the airplanes.

I worked through a contractor and had no benefits. No holiday pay but the hourly pay was good. Extremely precise work needs to be performed so if you’re shaky I wouldn’t advise working here. It does make you a better technician though because you’re building satellite harnesses. Still a numbers game and not personable management.
