What does a Nursing Assistant do?

As Nursing Assistants, our primary tasks include providing basic care to patients and assisting them with daily activities. We work under the supervision of registered nurses and doctors to ensure the well-being and comfort of our patients. Nursing Assistants monitor vital signs, aid in personal hygiene, and assist in mobility. We also help with patient documentation and communicate patient needs to the rest of the medical team. Our role is crucial in providing empathy and support to patients and their families.

Core tasks:

  • Monitoring and recording vital signs
  • Assisting patients with personal hygiene, such as bathing and dressing
  • Helping patients with mobility, including transferring and positioning
  • Providing patients with meals and assisting with feeding when necessary
