-Position Summary
-This recruitment will be used to fill one full-time Operation Systems Network Analyst, competency level 3, position for Telecommunications at Oregon State University (OSU).

This position supports the mission of Information Services Network Operations Center team to provide the best possible enterprise network services to our wide customer audience across several differentOSUcampuses. The position functions within a team of professionals responsible for the overallOSUwired, wireless and voice enterprise network. The position will focus on
(i) the support of the enterprise-wide wireless network infrastructure. The wireless network is now fully integrated into normalOSUoperations and is critical to the productivity of allOSUemployees, students and visitors.
(ii) the support and administration of the edge network in more than 100OSUbuildings, across several campuses
-Position Duties
-55% WIRELESSNETWORKDESIGN,SUPPORTANDTROUBLESHOOTING:
Communicate regularly with campus about wireless needs and changes. Evaluate coverage needs and determine how best to deploy new access points. Upgrade wireless network equipment, such as controllers, access points, PoE switches. Monitor wireless network for performance, availability and reliability. Manage wireless management system (Airwave, ClearPass or other vendor tools). Manage wireless controllers such as Aruba Mobility Master and Mobility Devices. Document wireless systems and procedures. Involved in design scope, pre-bid, pre- and post-project review for wireless projects in cooperation with the IS Construction Design team and contractors.

Provide tier three support to campus IT staff for networking issues. As a member of the Network Engineering team, assist in the design and implementation of campus-wide network services.

May serve in the Network Engineering team on-call rotation. Provide Athletic event support as needed.

35% NETWORKOPERATIONSANDSUPPORT:
Programming, installation, upgrading and troubleshooting of switches, routers,UTPcopper and fiber connections, to provide edge and core network services at speeds of 1/10/40/100GBps and more. Coordinate and follow-up on work done by technicians. Recommend equipment to be purchased to management, acquire bid quotes and lowest price possible. Upon approval by management order equipment, materials and supplies. Maintain an inventory of equipment, materials and supplies for network maintenance, repairs and emergency projects. May serve in the Network Engineering team on-call rotation.

10% Attend meetings, conferences, training seminars and workshops, read trade materials, read technical journals and equipment manuals, and consult with others in the industry to learn about emerging technology and network application issues. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
-Minimum Qualifications
-This classification requires a basic foundation of knowledge in operating systems programs, maintenance, systems administration, and network systems that would normally be obtained through a bachelors degree, preferably in computer science, engineering mathematics, telecommunications or a related technical field, or equivalent technical training and/or experience.

-A strong foundation of knowledge in enterprise scale wireless networking, and related technologies.

Strong knowledge of the vendor-specific tools to support theOSUenterprise wireless network,HPEAruba Airwave, Aruba ClearPass and Aruba Mobility Master.

Strong knowledge of communications technologies and network protocols commonly used in Enterprise scale networks such as IPv4 and IPv6,MSTP/STP,LLDP,VLANandVLANtrunking, and wireless protocols such as 802.11n/ac

Ability to communicate via e-mail, and face to face contacts to insure departmental satisfaction.

Strong written communication skills

Requires problem solving and personal relationship skills.

Experience working with departments and/or contractors on large installation and construction projects.
