As an Operations Intern at GPC, you'll have the opportunity to support and drive desired performance results and goals while learning about a global distribution organization.

* Enjoy learning about operations management involving shipment monitoring and coordination, while interfacing between vendors and operation team ensuring the safest and fastest delivery of products.

A day in the life:
* Provide analyses, suggestions and ideas for the improvement of operations within the shift, department and facility.
* Operates computer/internal freight monitoring systems used within the company to monitor freight movement.
* Monitor automated carrier selection, carrier pickup and delivery procedures at terminal.
* Provide shipment status information to internal and external customers, based on communications with carrier
* Resolve service issues related to carrier claims, volumes, on-time performance and automation

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills

* Experience with business communication, presentation, listening, partnership building, problem solving and customer relations skills
