About Optical Manager

What does an Optical Manager do?

As Optical Managers, we manage the operation of the store. We supervise the optical staff and keep the store profitable. We participate in hiring, coaching, developing, and evaluating staff. We work directly with customers to help meet their eyewear needs. We take and record measurements and adjust and fit eyewear. We check that finished eyewear meets optical standards and customer requirements. We manage a team of Opticians. We give and receive feedback and hold ongoing development conversations. We implement retail experience programs that increase customer loyalty and engagement. We anticipate staffing needs and oversee Optician Apprentice Program participants.

Core tasks:

  • support general store systems
  • oversee inventory databases and business operations
  • drive sales, ensure effective merchandise presentation
  • direct and guide Associates on proper Customer service approaches
  • ensure Customer needs, issues, and complaints are successfully resolved
  • oversee the implementation of community outreach programs
  • ensure compliance with Company and legal policies, regulations, and procedures
