Serving the needs of the Medicaid population requires a well-oiled machine. Our fast-paced, high volume offices require smart scheduling, effective patient communications, tested processes and a dedicated, well-trained staff. The Hero Practice Services team knows what it takes to provide quality dental, vision and orthodontic care under one roof. We are looking to create long-term relationships with the children and families we serve, and, to achieve that goal, we are dedicated to providing our staff with the support, compensation and lifestyle they need for career happiness.

Navigating the healthcare system can be a challenge for the families we serve. Mission of the Role

The Optical Sales Associate's mission is to ensure a positive first impression of all patients by efficiently executing administrative and sales duties in order to positively maximize each patient entire visit. The Optical Sales Associate will accomplish these goals by carrying out the following core values:

Integrity- Doing what is right for our patient, our teammates and our company. Upholding moral principles and trustworthy actions.

* Understand coding and optometric materials
* Verifying patient collection and documentation.
* Develop and maintain a professional business partnership with Optometrist.
* Ensure accuracy in all transactions and interactions with Patients.

Mission Driven - Focused on delivering high quality, compassionate healthcare through your daily activities in efforts to better the community we service.

* Greeting and setting up a friendly relationship with patients upon arrival.
* Accurately and correctly collecting patient information, medical information, processing patient payments during check-in and check-out.
* Ensure the delivery of simple and fun experience to all Patients.

Patient First - Evaluating our level of service and quality to the people we serve, putting what's best for our patients above all else.

* Take any patient concerns, complaints, or issues to the Retail Vision Manager in order to promote patient excellence.
* Strive to meet or exceed the expectations of both internal and external customers.
* Create and amazing patient experience on every visit by accurately fitting and dispensing products to the patient.
* Educates patients on proper eyeglass and contact lens care.

Accountability - Taking responsibility for meeting our commitment and taking ownership of our results.

* Deliver daily sales goals by flawless execution of the patient experience.
* Follows all operating policies and procedures at the highest level to include training, timely and accurate implementation of approved marketing/ merchandising programs and promotions, the accurate completion of all sales transactions, and utilization of all sales strategies and resources.
* Adhering to state and federal guidelines.

Compassion - Having the insight and vision to see others and help them along the journey of awareness, courage, confidence and joy. Seeing people as humans and assuming positive intent.

* Build brand awareness by daily attracting new patients.
* Inspect the final product ensuring there are no flaws; Clean and polishes lenses using cloths and solvents.
* Models compassionate attitude when working with patients and teammates who come from and array of background and life circumstances.
* Understand product issues and analyzes any problems.

Teamwork - Acting as a contributing teammate to those you work with. Striving for common culture and goals. Supporting one another to achieve the mission and seeing opportunity in yourself and others to develop and grow.

* Collaborate with others to provide and understand vision and inspiration to peers.
* Assist provider and staff with patient flow.
* Collaborate with technicians, Retail Vision Manager and Optometrist to ensure patients' needs are being met.
* Work with teammates to increase overall Practice profitability.

Desired Skills

* Experience working as an optician.
* Experience working in a retail environment
* Working knowledge of a Point of Sale software.
* Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner and develops alternative solutions.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Working knowledge of HIPAA requirements

Minimum Qualifications

* Highschool diploma or GED, or equivalent work experience
* 1+ years of management experience in Customer Service
* 1+ years of administrative experience.

Physical Requirements

This position requires full range of body motion. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift items weighing 50-75 lbs.
