About Optician

What does an Optician do?

As opticians, we help clients with fitting glasses or contact lenses, after obtaining prescriptions from optometrists or ophthalmologists. We also guide customers on the styles and characteristics of eyewear to best suit their needs. We are responsible for taking customer information and measurements of the ocular area. We recommend frames or contact lenses that suit the customer's style, face, and specifications. It is our duty to modify and fit frames according to the prescriptions, customer's specifications and face. We organize work order for making lenses by the optical technicians. Maintaining inventory on frames and contact lenses to ensure product diversity that promotes customer satisfaction. We teach customers how to put on and preserving glasses and contact lenses.

  • guide customers to select most suitable eyewear
  • recommend specific eyewear
  • fit and adjust glasses and lenses
  • repair broken frames
  • enlighten new clients how to wear and maintain glasses
