The Oregon Department of Justice under the umbrella of the state government serves the safe and healthy communities of Oregon by providing essential justice services to the people. It is headed by Attorney General Ellen F. Rosenblum, and the DOJ also serves as the state’s law firm. Headquartered in Salem, Oregon, the agency employs around 1300 individuals throughout the state and has a two-year budget of $550 million. Also, the agency has 13 child support and 10 legal offices located across the state. Aside from representing the state government, the DOJ protects all Oregonians, especially the segments of society that are most vulnerable like seniors and children. The DOJ as well as its nine sub-divisions perform various functions such as consumer protection, crime victim compensation, child support, charitable activities, and district attorney assistance.
