About Organ Recovery Coordinator

What does an Organ Recovery Coordinator do?

As Organ Recovery Coordinators, we coordinate with hospitals within a close distance from our clinic to document their organ donor lists and integrate them into our database. We rush to those hospitals on foot, via car, or via air transport whenever a donor passes away to collect that organ and bring it to the facility while contacting the recipient and ensure that they arrive at the clinic on short notice. We also ensure that the organ and tissue don’t suffer from damage during harvest or transportation.

Core tasks:

  • ensure the compatibility between donor and recipient
  • travel long distances on very short notice
