ISD 279 is the source of the confidence, courage, and competence for the students they need to pursue their goals, contribute to their communities, and engage in lifelong learning. It thinks that lifelong learning is necessary for an individual's and community's prosperity; that trust is necessary for successful relationships and results; and that better decisions are made when varied perspectives are purposefully included in a collaborative process. ISD 279 encompasses all or parts of Brooklyn Center, Maple Grove, Brooklyn Park, Rogers, Osseo, Corcoran, Dayton and Plymouth, and is Minnesota's fifth biggest school district. 17 elementary schools (PreK–5), four middle schools (6–8), three senior high schools (9–12), an area learning center (9–12), two early childhood centers, and an adult education center are where students learn.
